The book was shorter than I expected. However, I appreciate that the authors cut to the chase without adding all the fluff/random stories that people usually use to stretch a short message into a 250-page book. Especially with an exam manual to read, I wasn't looking for another novel to add to my actuarial readings.Like many people, I was very skeptical of this book at first. Not only of the "Learn more, study less" promise, but also whether the strategies would work for the "average" student, not just the world's youngest FSA.After finally passing Exam P on my 3rd attempt, I was looking for better ways to approach FM (hence, why I bought this). These strategies were much different than how I learned to study in high school, but I figured I would give it a shot.I felt a big difference after the first few weeks of studying, using a schedule similar to what the authors outline. I was surprised at how much I had remembered in the few weeks leading up to the exam, and I didn't have to do nearly as much review as with Exam P. I felt more confident when I took FM this August, and I was able to pass on my first attempt this time.I enjoyed the practical advice the authors gave and how easy it was to implement. Everyone else gives high-level advice of "Spend X amount of time going through the manual, then do X number of practice problems". This book actually gets into the details of how to "go through the manual" and gets more detailed than anything I've found online.Highly recommend for actuarial students. For the potential of saving hundreds of hours over the course of taking exams, I think the $10-15 investment is one of the smartest moves you could make. These are practical and useful advices summaried from years of experience and refining.I believe the methods of learning not only benefit people studying for actuarial exams, also for those who were rely on teachers but now need to learn new subjects on your own (I.e. maybe from highschool to college).I wish I had read this book 5 years ago but I still have 3 more exams to go.
